[Street exhibition] Art flags in Roppongi

This time,Roppongi Designers Flag 2024a work was selected, and
received the Midtown Award, andflags flying in the Roppongi streetscame to be.

You can see it right in front of Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi).

Once the flags were up, a fan went out right away and took photos.

Thank you for getting there even before I did.

Because the work received the Tokyo Midtown Award, the flag stood on the street truly in front of Midtown.

　With the Japan Graphic Design Association, Kaoru Kasai, Masaaki Hiromura, and Fumie Shibata held a careful jury on November 17, first selecting 130 works, then choosing the especially strong pieces for the awards.

With the sponsors’ selections as well, all eight winning works were decided.

The ceremony for those eight artists was held in Roppongi in January 2024.

From March 24 to May 26 the works fly as streetlight banner flags, for the many people who visit Roppongi from around the world.

The one-of-a-kind original will also hang in the reception space.。

I’m truly sorry.
for security reasons, it isn’t a place open to the public.

Even so, an opportunity like this is a true honor, and I wanted to share it with everyone who follows the work.

Please enjoy the Roppongi Designers Flag 2024 Tokyo Midtown Award ceremony.

From Takuya Fujii, President of Tokyo Midtown Management Co., Ltd.“an image that belongs at Midtown”— those kind words. I felt truly honored. I also met jurors Kaoru Kasai, Fumie Shibata, and Masaaki Hiromura.

I felt, up close, what the real thing looks like.

Remarkable jurors, working at the front of the field, with an eye for true beauty and the power to make it.

Their smiles, their bearing, the way they hold being at the top — all of it was beautiful.

A career like that can make you shrink a little, but their easy, thoughtful manner swept that away.

The real thing is remarkable, all the way through.

Good news so early in the year, and a good start for me as well.

I’ll make this another year of challenges.
